John Knowlson at BCC has agreed to match fund. BM to apply for funding for play equipment. This will be submitted before April

Section 106 funding
PM will meet with Peter Wilkinson (BCC) to discuss in more detail.

Marks & Spencer Green Bag scheme (Community Spaces/Groundwork)
JF contacted head office. Up to £25k available. 40 projects across the UK ongoing but due to finish in May. Contact local Groundwork Trust about applying for then. Need to gather ideas e.g. natural playspace/planting scheme?? And discuss with them.

PM/ BM to take this forward.

Bench(es) & Bins!
To be fitted in spring – written confirmation has been received by Claire Adams. Date required.

Bristol Community Partnership (BCP)
Discussion again took place highlighting the need to keep our accounts options open for the future. BCP currently hold APAG funds. At present it was felt still necessary to be under the BCP umbrella.

Bristol Play Pathfinder investment programme
Consultation will be taking place March 11th, 7:30pm at Arnos Manor Hotel. BM will take views forward on behalf of APAG (please see separate doc.). JF/BM has put up posters and BT has requested it noted on Holymead newsletter.

SPe has asked for help from a volunteer to create a poster for the Easter Egg Hunt. Members happy to use last years poster just amending the date. School newsletters maybe a way to minimise effort. BT/JF working on new doc. For park notice board.

JF now has made contact re investigating costs of mobile skate park but needs to visit Wicklea on a Sat. to discuss with skate park organiser.

EC investigating the possibilities of accessing funding with the help of ‘Once’ in order to engage youngsters possibly in a history project

PM will investigate informal/rustic seating in the basket ball area.

PM will ask about the possibility of a path to give greater access to the cemetery gate.

Rachel Schofield has expressed disappointment with Claire Adams decision to reverse the boundary position. PM will investigate further.

Cemetery Gate/access to Arno's park opening – has still not been settled. The Cemetery Trust will leave the gates as they are unless they have reason to do otherwise. PM to maintain communication when necessary.

BM to contact RS re meeting to discuss funding sources/cost of signage once funding for the gate being opened is secured.

PM will discuss the state of the park boundary area after the fence contractors had finished the work.

Neighbourhood Partnerships

A priority for the PACT group over the next few months is to be extra vigilant in the park due to BT spotting syringe packet.

Another PACT priority is to help reinforce Kings Road traffic direction. This aids safer crossing for all into the park from Kings Road

Environmental Report

Path from Withleigh/Somerset Rd drainage - BT still to feedback to Claire Adams (community park manager).

BT will follow up conversations with local cycle groups about plans for park/tarmac area by playground and Janine Everett (education link to cemetery).

16 bat & bird boxes are now up in the park. PP/BM/EC to liaise with St. Anne's, Holymead & Hillcrest schools to begin project work.

PP to talk to library (Kate Davenport?) re: possibility of bat boxes and c.d.s for hire for use in park.

Event co-ordination team: Emma Channon (EC)/Steve Pearce (SP)

EC has made contact with the 'Once' theatre group and has arranged a viewing of the park to see if it is appropriate for a production & shall ask them re insurance. EC to clarify the role and cost of 'Once'.

EC will draw up an Events programme for the year to advertise all events in one go. Please give dates of events and ideas to EC by 1st May 2009. All ideas welcome please speak to EC who will facilitate.

EC will liaise with local groups (i.e. scout/young people's military groups) in the area to invite them to create informal play spaces in the woods and help them achieve their Duke of Edinburgh awards.

EC to liaise with Wick Road library for a story/craft session in the park

Easter Egg Hunt
SPe will run the Easter Egg Hunt again this year! The hunt will be on Easter Monday 10-12. Volunteers required to make this happen and be enjoyable for all – please contact SPe.
