Treasurer KT

• Balance at end of March 2009 was £805.64. NB money from BCP (Brislington Community Partnership) to cover website fee hasn't come through.
• BCP have a new Treasurer
• All agreed to authorize the following payments:
£1.48 to KT for stationary/postage
£40.83 to Joules for website maintenance
£96 to Sarah Peacock for Easter Eggs
£63 to BM for Easter Eggs
• Easter Egg Hunt made £29.55 profit

Secretary (JF)
Thanks to Sheila & Howard Millband who have offered support for events

Fund Raising Team (BM)

YANSEC bid: BM to resubmit a bid aimed at older children as the younger age group should be catered for (via the Pathfinder funding)

Open Spaces (Grass Roots) £1k or use the Community Transformation Funds

BM to apply for funding for structured youth interaction of a decorated bench ('Once' group). To discuss with EC and check BCC are willing to match fund. BM to contact council person who has done this work before.

Bristol Play Pathfinder investment programme
• Phase 1 consultation has been completed. Holymead Jnrs, Park users and a youth group were contacted for comments/ideas.
• Landscape designer is Don Ward, Main contact is John Williams.
• 2 proposed sketches for the development of the play area will be available from the end of May and they would like to attend the APAG choir eve as part of their public consultation. BM to discuss with EC/Katcha re contingencies for weather. They will provide flyers etc for distribution/posters.
• Work due to start in November, with completion late Jan/Feb.
• Launch with APAG event in March – ideas please

Section 106 funding No news whether PM has met with Peter Wilkinson (BCC) to discuss in more detail.

Marks & Spencer Green Bag scheme (Community Spaces/Groundwork)
JF contacted local Groundwork Trust about applying for funding – no reply yet – to chase. Ideas still wanted.

Wessex Water
JF to forward details to Rachel Schofield at Cemetery Trust as they have the natural pond within their boundaries.

Bench(es) & Bins!
Have not been fitted to date – written confirmation was received by Claire Adams. JN to chase. Pathfinder contacts aware that these have been promised.

PR / Publicity: (SPe)

BT/JF working on new doc. for park notice board.

SPe stepping down from publicity role – volunteer(s) required to step in

Website – usually written in HTML but it is quicker to load as a pdf file – all agreed to change format as this will reduce costs. Line needs to be added so that people can request items in a different form at if required. JF to let JT know

Youth links: Position Vacant still

Mobile skate park free but we'll need to book and organise transport to the park. JF has volunteered use of van but needs to ensure it's available on the day. EC/SP to organise and book date with Wicklea skate park organiser.

EC investigating the possibilities of accessing funding with the help of 'Once' in order to engage youngsters possibly in a history project.

PM still to investigate informal/rustic seating in the basket ball area.

PM still to ask about the possibility of a path to give greater access to the cemetery gate.

Cemetery links / development: (PM)/BT/RS

No news from PM re decision to reverse the boundary position.

PM will discuss the state of the park boundary area after the fence contractors had finished the work.

Rachel Scolfield (Cemetery Trust) has asked for any more details re cemetery gates.


Neighbourhood Partnerships

No Update

Environmental Report

Path from Withleigh/Somerset Rd drainage - BT awaiting feedback.

No more info re plans for park/tarmac area by playground.

PP/BM/EC to liaise with St. Anne's, Holymead & Hillcrest schools to begin project work around bird/bat boxes. JF to try and produce a map of where they are.

PP still to talk to library (Kate Davenport?) re: possibility of bat boxes& cds for hire for use in park.

BT has informed council of saplings growing on Kings Road wall again (costly repairs)

Event co-ordination team: Emma Channon (EC)/Steve Pearce (SP)

• EC to clarify the role & cost of 'Once'
• EC to draw up an Events programme for the year to circulate. Current plans: 19th June – Holymead Choir & BBQ, 12th July – under 8's funday
• EC still to liaise with local groups (i.e. scout/young people's military groups) in the area to invite them to create informal play spaces in the woods and help them achieve their Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Under 8's afternoon
EC needing volunteers for 12th July (1-3pm) – bouncy castle/cake/refreshments stall. Need PM/JN to chase council re licence/insurance. BM to apply to BCP for funding for face painters

Easter Egg Hunt
Great success – 150 eggs given out. Thanks to the extra volunteers who helped out on the day/distributed flyers & posters. BCP rejected bid to fund purchase of Easter eggs Thanks to Go Outdoors for donating a large family sized tent to be used for events

BT/JF planning to run a scavenger/mini beast hunt in Autumn

BCC Parks dept reconstruction: Jamie Roberts is now the Area Park Manager and Gary Brentnall is now the Community Park Officer. To forward minutes to them.
